    In the late Middle Ages, there was reborn interest in the cultures of ancient Greece
    and Rome
    These ancient cultures believed:
    1. Human beings were individuals and each individual was important
    2. Through learning human beings could achieve a better life
    What in our culture shows that we believe the same things?
    1. Right to vote, sense of individuality/uniqueness (self-expression: fashion, art,
    music, identity), IEPs, Health Care, Human Rights
    2. Education is not only a right, it is the law that you attend school. It is
    commonly accepted in our society that having an education opens doors and
    helps you to get a better job
