Dry ice experiment


Materials:

dry ice
water
bowl
gloves
dish soap (optional)

Procedure
1. Use gloves to put a large piece of dry ice in a bowl.
2. Have students observe the characteristics of the

dry ice.
3. Pour the water into the bowl with the dry ice.
4. Have students observe the changes that the dry ice
is going through.(What is happening?)
5. *Optional* Put some dish soap in the water with the
dry ice. This will create bubbles filled with the carbon dioxide that the
students can play with.

1. Mix cornstarch and water in a bowl.


2. Give some to each student to play with.
3. Tell them observe and changes in state that occur
while playing with it.
