Scope
This document enumerates about de-shuttering and curing work procedures which will be used in
ANNODE STROAGE BULIDING CONSTRUCTION AREA at north side

A) De-shuttering
De-shuttering is the activity that removal of shuttering and supporting accessories from casted
hardened concrete
Procedure
1. Tie rod and connections shall be loosened.
2. Form work shall be stripped off from the concrete face using hand tools
3. Area shall be cleaned after removal of formwork

B) Curing
Curing is the process in which the concrete is protected from loss of moisture and kept within a
reasonable temperature range. This process results in concrete with increased strength and
decreased permeability. Curing is also a key player in mitigating cracks, which can severely affect
durability.
Method of Curing
Sprinkling and Wet covering: once the concrete has set sufficiently to prevent water erosion,
ordinary lawn sprinklers are effective if good coverage is provided and water runoff is of no concern. It
shall be in particular intervals in such a way that drying of concrete shall avoid. Laying of Hessian
(gunny) cloths on concrete face is more effective.

Procedure
After initial setting of concrete, form work will be removed and area shall be cleaned from
debris & shuttering material
Surface repairing shall be done if required. Tie rod holes shall be closed using approved
materials.
Sprinkling and wet covering method will be used for curing of pedestals.
Water tank shall be kept at site. Tank will be filled with drinking water by water tanker
Water shall be sprinkled using water pump and hose pipe or manual
Curing activity will be continued for at least 7 days from date of concreting.
2 layers of bituminous coat shall be applied on concrete having contact with soil for quality
control.
Safety Cautions
PPE should be worn all times
Electrical cables should be checked.
Well housekeeping should be maintained
