MOP FOR SHORT CABLE ADDITION TO THE EXISTING SERIAL DATA

This MOP is prepared as guidance to add a short cable between the Data port and the
existing serial data cable to solve the RTS alarm issue.
The short cable will be added between the module and the existing cable for saving number
of added short cable at each site (each short cable will handle two user ports).

STEP 1
Preliminary Check:
1. Check and verify that the service are running properly.
2. Check and verify that the MP is accessible from RV server.
3. Check and verify that the RTS On/Off alarm exist on the MP.

STEP 2
Adding short Cable: (for chassis TSB1/ TSB2/ TSB3 & TSB4)
1. Disconnect cable from port 1 (1a & 1b), this will affect the traffic of port 1a and port
1b. See drawing 1
2. Check and verify that the services (RTU/ Racom data) are down.
3. Interruption of traffic will occur for port 1a and 1b (it takes 2 to 3 mins), until the
short cable is connected.
4. Connect short cable to port 1 (channel 1 and 2) of HSR-N module.
5. Then connect existing cable (previously disconnected to module) to short cable. See
drawing 2
6. Check and verify that the services restored and running properly.
7. Expect that traffic (service) will restored, and the RTS ON/OFF alarms will disappear
on that particular channel (1/2) of HSR-N
8. Monitor the services (RTU/ Racom data) and the alarms on the MP for 5 10 mins.
9. Check and verify that the RTS Off alarm on this particular port does not occur.
10. Repeat the item 1 to 5 on the succeeding HSR-N module and ports.
11. RESET the Chassis. This will take 3 10mins.
12. Once the chassis turn to normal condition, expect that all RTS Off alarms will
disappear.
13. Check and verify (with BER tester) that local loop back is working.
14. And once all the HSR-N (ports) in a chassis was connected with the short cable,
expect that all RTS ON/OFF alarms will disappear on the logs.

**FALLBACK: In case the services do not go up after adding the short cable
1. Remove the short cable from the MP.
2. Reconnect the existing cable to the MP.
3. Check and verify that services are restored and running properly.
