HIGH RISK AUTO MARKET--Some members of the PIA, particularly those outside of Dade

County, may not know about the Florida Automobile Joint Underwriting Association (FAJUA).
It's the automobile equivalent of Citizens--a residual market for high risk automobiles insuring
both commercial and private passenger vehicles for those entitled to, but unable to find, private
coverage.
In the early 70's the Florida Association of Insurance Agents created the second JUA, of any
type, in the entire US. Even today they hold a statutorily prescribed seat on the FAJUA board of
directors.
We've received notice that the FAJUA is looking to appoint more producers in middle and
northern counties. Total number of producers statewide is 408 but, three fourths are in Miami
Dade. Though other eastward locations are also open, producers are particularly needed in the
Panhandle area.
The FAJUA pays a 10% commission and there are no fees associated with signing up. It features
user friendly web quoting and a premium payment plan with a down payment of 25% (plus $10)
and the balance billed in 6 monthly installments.
In an effort to improve service to its policyholders as well as producers the FAJUA changed its'
policy administrator in 2014 to Blue Cod technologies which now has a year of processing and
working with the FAJUA staff under its belt.
Goals are to provide streamlined policy administration and exemplary customer service, so...if
you're in need of a high risk auto market you may want to learn more at www.fajua.org or by
calling 850-681-2003 and requesting a producer package.
