NAME___________________________________

Please round all answers to the tenth decimal

place.
1. The patient is ordered to receive Dopamine at 6 mcg/kg/min. The patients
weight is 180 lbs. The Dopamine is available in 800 mg/500 mL of D5W bags.
Calculate the mL/hr rate in order to set the pts infusion pump.

2. The patient is ordered to receive Nitroglycerin at 80 mcg/min. Nitroglycerin is

available 50 mg in 250 mL Normal Saline. Calculate the mL/hr rate.

3. Neosynephrine 50mg in 250mL D5W is used to infuse a dosage of

180mcg/min. Calculate the flow rate in mL/hr.

4. Dobutamine has been ordered at 5 mcg/kg/min using a 400mg per 250mL

D5W solution. The
.
patient weighs 72 kg. Calculate the dosage
and flow rate in mL/hr.

5. Levophed 3-6 mcg/min has been ordered to maintain systolic BP>100mmHg. The
solution being
titrated has 4mg Levophed in 250mL D5W. Calculate the flow rate in mL/hr for
the 3-6mcg range.

6. A patient weighing 88 kg has a Dobutrex solution of 500mg in 250mL D5W

ordered to titrate
between 5-10mcg/kg/min. After many adjustments, the rate is stabilized at 20
mL/hr. Determine the
dosage range mcg/min, the flow rate range mL/hr, and the stabilizing dosage
mcg/min (do NOT
round as this is the EXACT dose the pt is receiving).
