Science Chapter 3 Study Guide

1.Be able to list living and nonliving parts of an ecosystem.


2. Recognize the 6 ecosystems that we studied and understand what their climate/environment is like
and what type of plants and animals live there.
3. Differentiate between herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores. Be able to give examples of each.
4.Understand how energy and matter flows through food webs and food chains. Determine the
difference between a food web and food chain.
5.Know the difference between a producer and consumer.
6.Understand how populations of animals effect one another in an ecosystems.
7. Study different food chains and webs from different ecosystems (use the textbook) i.e. swamp,
desert, forest, ocean, etc.
