Renaissance
Intro
as noted, the Renaissance was a period of great cultural change and
achievement, marked by:

A renewed interest in the cultures of classical antiquity

(Ancient Rome and Greece)
Began in northern Italy, namely the city-states of Florence
particularly, also Siena and Venice
Saw significant new (revolutionary) developments in the
arts, namely painting, sculpture and architecture
