The Session has postponed the traditional Annual Meeting Part 2 so we can
devote part of the meeting to a presentation of the vision for Centrals future,
and ways you can participate. We anticipate the meeting will be held in
mid-March.
Church Family
Thank you....
Hey Central,
The Oylers just wanted to tell you that we're
thankful for you! Not only that, but we want to keep
the congregation in our prayers, and we want our
prayers to continue to be specific and relevant to the
current life of the church body! A few months ago,
we began praying for the congregation to adjust to
changes, along with volunteers to step up for the
children's ministry. We hope that God has been
faithfully answering.
Love and thanks,
Zach and Steph
FINANCE UPDATE
Central finished 2015 in a good financial condition due to strong contributions in November and
December. Total offerings for 2015 were $446,269 which is 10% above 2014. That is the good news,
however giving for 2016 was well below average during the first three weeks and the fourth Sunday was
cancelled due to the snow. For this reason, we have been forced to withdraw from our investments to
manage the ongoing expenses for our Church. We have delayed doing the 2016 budget and stewardship
campaign until the Visioning process is completed which will be the basis for planning this year. In the
meantime, please maintain giving at the 2015 level subject to change with the new campaign.
Central continues to make both credit card and automatic withdrawal options available to you. We are
currently getting 10% of our offerings through these convenient methods which also improves our cash
flow during times when you are traveling or unable to attend services. If you would like more information
on this useful option, please contact Missy Igou at the church office, 717-264-4113, ext. 109.

YOUTH
GROUP
What a crazy adventure we are on these days! As the wind shifts and the forecast
changes, so do our plans; but, isnt it amazing that our God never does?
He is the same today, yesterday, and tomorrow. I take such comfort in that,
especially in this harsh cold, knowing that His warmth and light will guide
our every footstep. When life feels chaotic, we are reminded that He
is constant. How refreshing! You, oh Lord, are the God of hope.
NEWS
YOUTH:
In Januarys youth group, we focused on the theme The One & Only.
We talked about how we tend to make gods of other things, such as money, popularity, romance, our
friends, our hobbies, our grades, etc., but those things are idols trying to steal our focus. We found that when
we choose to put our primary attention on Him, everything else seems to fall into place. We also addressed
personal circumstances and choosing to pursue the glory of God even when things are difficult.
For our outreach night, the Middlers went back to Penn Hall to spend time with the residents there; from
these events, we are hoping that our middlers form special bonds with a resident or two. Our highschoolers
went to the homeless shelter on Main St., brought dinner and some games, and spent a chunk of quality time
with the people who live there. They loved having us.
For our community night in January, Holly and Calvin Shearer provided dinner (THANK YOU SO
MUCH!), and we filmed our youth mission support video. Soon, the video will be able to be shared via
YouTube!
For our worship night, we engaged in clay molding, yoga, sand meditation, photography, and graphic art.
Our two worship avenues were creative arts and prayer. Its been awesome to experience many different
forms of worship through this youth group layout!
Thank you to all those who have been supporting our high school youth basketball team! We have a couple games this month: February 2nd and February 11th (both 8pm at the Chambersburg Rec Center.) Thanks
to Nick Adams and Chris Ott for being our coaches! We are so proud of our guys for being exemplary gents
on and off the court.
We are also sponsoring a middle school team (many thanks to Don Marangoni and Danny Klink for
coaching!) The game schedule for our middle school co-ed basketball team is as follows:
2/13/16 @ 9am
2/20/16 @ 9am
2/27/16 @ 10am
3/5/16 @ 10am
As always, a huge thank you to all of our volunteers who make youth ministry possible! In January,
our volunteers were: Don & Shelley Marangoni (middlers Sunday School), Scott & Madeline Wilson
(Highers Sunday School), Dani & Jeff Kardisco, Kari Wiley, Danny Klink, Bill Oyler, Amber Keller, Jenine
Grove, Kristen Adams, and John & Amy Leary! We cant thank you enough for giving of your time and energy for our teenagers! Thank you also to all of our active youth mentors! We appreciate you so!
Coming up for Centrals youth ministry:
Tuesday February 9th Fat Tuesday Pancake Supper & Game Show, 6-8:30pm
Featuring couples you know and love!
Also, look out for some awesome and hilarious commercial breaks!
Bucket donations on tables toward youth missions
Sunday February 28th Rescheduled Roaring 20s Dinner Dance, 5-8pm
Suggested donation of $20/adults, $10/youth, kids 5 and under eat free
Menu: Shredded beef sliders, Chicken and Sauce, Broccoli Slaw, Roasted Sweet and
White Potatoes, Pudding Parfaits, Sparkling Grapejuice Punch, Coffee
All proceeds go to the youth mission trip
Thank you to everyone who has already donated toward our youth mission trip and the youth ministry
budget! We count you as angels on earth!
CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP:
Thanks to all of our musicians, dancers, and sound people who
show up to share your gifts and bring glory to God every week!
You are so appreciated! Thank you also to Ron and to everyone
who helps set up/tear down the Friendship Hall each Sunday! Lastly, but not leastly, thank you to the 1st service congregation for allowing the Holy Spirit to move in and through you during worship!
Your presence makes our community stronger and more beautiful.
Dont forget to check our music ministry page on the website
weekly to find out which songs we will be worshipping with!

AGENTS IN ACTION
What?
When?
Time?
Where?
COMING IN LENT
Lent is a 40 day journey (not counting Sundays) to focus on God and prepare to remember
and celebrate Jesus dying on the cross and rising from the grave to save each of us. Many
people decide to give up things for Lent to help them remember that Jesus gave His life
for us. But you can also take on doing good things just like Jesus did.
Walk His Ways will be the focus of AGENTS IN ACTION during Lent this year.
We will dig into the parables of Jesus and discover how to live and serve as Jesus did.
Through Bible lessons, stories, games,
and activities, we will both challenge
and encourage each other to walk like
Jesus.
So come on out, put on the AGENTS
IN ACTION hat and join us as we take
on doing good for Jesus!
