English Class Objectives


Generally, the course aims to help the students achieve a reasonable and age-appropriate, but higher level of
proficiency in English

READING
The students are expected to widen their vocabulary and improve in spelling. They are encouraged to relate
personal experiences and develop genuine love for reading while practicing critical thinking. As they read, it is
aimed for them to learn and apply reading strategies, and participate in class presentations and discussion.

CONVERSATION
The students are expected to be familiar with a new set of vocabulary that they can use in real-life situations
where conversation is needed. They are encouraged to relate personal experiences and value the importance
learning English for communication purposes. It is aimed that they learn to speak with confidence, clarity, and
proper pronunciation, enunciation and intonation.
LANGUAGE
The students are expected to recognize and understand parts of speech and rules of grammar. As they speak or
write, it is encourage that they relate personal experiences and express their thoughts correctly. It is also aimed
that the students become conscious of avoiding mistakes and learn how to self-correct.
WRITING
The students are expected to be familiar with different writing genres. Whenever they write, they are encouraged
to relate personal experiences while following writing guidelines and suggestions. It is aimed for them to develop
genuine interest and passion for writing. It is also a goal for students to observe unity and coherence, and to use
proofreading marks when editing writing works.
