Rhetorical Analysis of Santa Claus Article

Holly Scheers Celebrate Santa Claus For Saint Nicholas's Sake is a story about how
Bishop Nicholas of Myra became Santa Claus. Saint Nicholas and Santa Claus are two
completely different people. Even though they are entirely separate Holly Scheer explains why
they should both be celebrated.
Also, Holly Sheer uses logic to explain that the story of Santa is one of generosity. The
story of Santa inspires kids to dream desires that they would not have originally dreamed for
because it would not be within their reach. Moreover, Santa helps kids consider how they treat
others so they can learn to live with greater compassion.
Additionally Holly Sheer also uses persuasion to build on her argument of why the real
Saint Nicholas should be celebrated. She explains a story in which Saint Nicholas secretly stuck
coins in the stockings of three poor girls at night so they could marry rich and escape the poor
lifestyles they were all experiencing. Anyone going out of their way to give to the poor is
someone worth celebrating.
