Material Management Guideline (For Reference Only)

Purpose
Purpose of this document is to provide Customer with a high-level guideline to be used in Site for
GE Oil & Gas material managing.
The guideline is organized in sequential operative steps to be carried out by Customer Site
Personnel with the support of GE Oil & Gas Site Manager (or GE Oil & Gas Material Manager if
present).

Operative Steps
Step 1
Check the correspondence between the boxes shipped to Site from GE O&G Head Quarter
(or from GE O&G Supplier factory) Site and the boxes received in Site.
This check has to be done using the shipping documents (Cargo List) provided by GE Oil & Gas
Step 2
Verify the integrity of the boxes received in Site and notify to GE O&G (including explanatory
pictures) any external evident damages.
Step 3
Open the boxes in the presence of GE Oil & Gas Site Manager (or GE Oil & Gas Material Manager if
present).
Step 4
Check the material contained in the boxes according to packing list attached on the boxes or
provided by GE Oil & Gas Site Manager (or GE Oil & Gas Material Manager if present).

Step 5
Any non-conformity concerning the items contained into the case (damaged or missing items)
shall be reported immediately to GE Oil & Gas Site Manager (or GE Oil & Gas Material Manager if
present).
After defect notification the GE O&G personnel will start the Non Conformity Resolution process in
order to fix the detected issue.
The damaged material shall be segregated in a dedicated area and made available to further
GE O&G disposal
Step 6
Once the items are clearly identified they shall be stored in Customer warehouse, according to
applicable preservation and storage procedures, or dispatched to the site working areas
according to project needs
The storage order into Customer warehouse should take into account the installation schedule
and needs; the items to be used first (based on installation schedule) should be located inside the
Customer warehouse in the more accessible position

NOTE
GE Oil & Gas recommends storing the bulk materials (i.e. flexible hoses, couplings, fittings, flanges,
bolting) as well as the special tools in a proper storage container (one for each unit) to avoid
material damaging and loss.
