Bakkhali

Next weekend, you can be at Bakkhali, a popular tourist spot. It is located at a distance of 130
km from Kolkata. The high rolling waves, pine forests, red crabs all make Bakkhali an ideal spot
for weekend tour. You can see Crocodile Project and Deer park. Some of the other sightseeings
near Bakkhali are Henry's Island, Jambu Dwip, Sagar Island and Fraserganj. The town of
Fraserganj is named after Andrew Fraser who in the 1900s tried to build the area into a resort
but he couldnt do that as the waves frequently washed the constructions.
HOW TO REACH
You can catch local train from Sealdah and reach Kakdwip via Laxmikantapur. Then you have to
go to Namkhana from Kakdwip. At Namkhana you have to cross a river and then you can get bus
or trekker to reach Bakkhali 25 km from here.
