1. THESIS STATEMENT
Present the projects argument or interpretation in two sentences. If you are using the NHD theme, you might want to make it
evident in your thesis statement.
Although people disagreed with the way the Globetrotters played, they changed the game
of basketball positively, by making it more family friendly, less competitive, and by
introducing diversity into the sport.
2. SUMMARY OF PROJECT
Briefly explain your project and its conclusion. Include: How and why did change happen and what was the impact? Why is
it historically significant? What historical meaning or importance can we learn from your findings?
The Globetrotters have made basketball accept diversity, made a more family friendly and less
competitive game of basketball. Now a days there is no judgment when seeing people in the NBA
that are not white it is normal. I think it really shows that if someone really wants to make a
change they can as long as they out their mind to it.
3. Required for projects using the National History Day theme only.
Explain how this project integrates the NHD theme Exploration, Encounter, and Exchange in [Chicago/Illinois] History into
its argument.
I argue that the globetrotters changed basketball worldwide. They stood up to what they thought was right and now they
have made a change that is very visible today.
