Pre-Reading
1. Pupils are asked a few WH questions.
e.g: a) Have you been to the fisherman village?
2. Pupils respond to the questions asked by the teacher.
3. Teacher shows a picture of a salted fish and asks them to guess. (Pupils get clues
from the teacher).
4. Pupils are introduced to the reading text. Some difficult words are explained to the
pupils.
While-Reading
1. Pupils are put into groups and each group is given an envelope containing strips of
sentences of the text.
2. Pupils are required to arrange the sentence strips in the correct order.
3. Pupils read out the story and then teacher gives feedback.
Post-Reading
1. In groups pupils discuss about other types of preserved food
2. Pupils can get information from the website, books or ask from the teacher.
3. Pupils present their work.
