Standards:

2. A. 2: f1-4- f. Cellular respiration in eukaryotes involves a series of

coordinated enzyme-catalyzed reactions that harvest free energy from simple
carbohydrates.
2. A. 2: g1-5 - g. The electron transport chain captures free energy from
electrons in a series of coupled reactions that establish an electrochemical
gradient across membranes.
2. A. 2: c- c. Different energy-capturing processes use different types of
electron acceptors.
-Oxygen in cellular respiration
Summary:
Cellular respiration is the reverse of photosynthesis. It happens in Heterotrophs who
do not make their own energy and have to consume energy. Cellular Respiration
provides the energy to make ATP from ADP and Phosphate. Cellular respiration
occurs in the mitochondria of heterotrophs.

Reflection:
I understand Cellular Respiration very well especially the steps. The four steps are
Glycolysis, Formation of Acetyl CoA, Krebs cycle, and electron Transport Chain. I did
not understand chemiosmosis very well and it caused me to miss a lot of points on
my test. This is why I would like to study chemiosmosis further and see how it works
in cellular respiration.
