Elizabeth I: Exploring The Power Of A Female Monarch

Queen Elizabeth I was considered the greatest monarch in English history. As a female,
many people doubted her and considered her position dangerous and uncertain. However, she
ruled alone for half a century, and had a huge influence on world history. Despite being a female
monarch, she had many accomplishments. She survived a scandal with Thomas Seymour, she
was a gifted scholar who spoke several languages, great explorers were encouraged to expand
overseas into America, the Spanish Armada was defeated after years of conflict, there was an
increase in literacy and the arts, and England became stronger in its naval defense during her
reign, etc. Queen Elizabeth I helped lay the foundation for many other queens of England after
her reign. Exploration, encounter, and exchange played a major part of the queens reign. Queen
Elizabeths exploration of the New World during her rule helped her learn about many different
cultures, and exchange many unique ideas. Her policies helped maintain peace and stability in
England, which is why she, Queen Elizabeth I, came to be known as one of the greatest female
monarchs in English history.
Many sources give important information on the reign of Queen Elizabeth. There were
several articles that had different information to offer on Elizabeth I. Some articles gave the basic
facts about her life, while other articles focused on a specific event. The local library was also a
great help in finding secondary sources, but there were not as many primary sources to be found.
The primary sources helped give more insight into the specifics of what Elizabeth goals were and
how she dealt with many challenges while ruling England because it comes from her own words.
The secondary sources consisted mostly of articles from off the internet and books that were
easier to access. Overall, both the primary and secondary sources used were reliable information
for researching Queen Elizabeth I powerful monarch.

Presenting this theme in a website format is a great way for the audience to understand
and explore the power of a female monarch. Elizabeth I encountered many problems in the world
while exploring however, this allowed Elizabeth I to be able to exchange many ideas with many
different countries. The website will give information about Elizabeth Is powerful reign over in
England for nearly half a century and why she is considered an extraordinary in English history.
Elizabeth I became Queen in England in 1558. She took over a nation that was in debt,
had religious disorder, and maintained a weakened alliance with the French and Spanish. Many
people doubted her and only believed the only way for her succeeding was to marry quickly and
lean onto her husband for support. However, Elizabeth proved them wrong by bringing peace
and stability to England. Elizabeth I is now known to be one of the greatest female monarch in
English history.
