Drilling Holes for Raster Braille

When using the RasterTM method of Braille, you must first drill the holes to insert the
RastersTM. You must use a 1.55mm drill or a drill/cutter made specifically for this type
of Braille. You must drill the holes .043 deep. This will leave .019 of the RastersTM
raised above the surface of the material.
Using the Xenetech software, you will follow these steps:
1. Click on the MISC pull down menu.
2. Select Braille output type.

3. Choose Braille done as dots (embossing)

4. If you are in California, or your job requires the California Braille, select it.

5. Next you will crate your Braille job.

6. You can ether enter only the Braille or you can enter the text and Braille, and use
the engrave by color feature so that the Braille will engrave first and the text last.

7. When you have everything ready to engrave, you will set up your To Engraver
Dialog as in the next figure.

8. If you have a viper system, the next step would be to use the engraver to
automatically insert the RastersTM.
To use the Braille insertion tool, review article 148 of the Xenetech Knowledge Base.
