The Great Wave By: Hokusia

Description
The picture shows several elements of art here are
some of those examples.
Line, value, color, and space
Its show those value by the blending of the waves and
how it goes from light to dark.
It shows space in the drawing by the waves and the sky
and the boat.

Media
The inspiration of the Great Wave is that It reflects an enormous wave
threatening boats off the coast of the prefecture of kanagwa. While sometimes
assumed to be a tsunami , the wave is as the picture's title suggests more likely
to be a large rouge wave. As in all the prints in the series it reflects the area
around mount Fuji under particular conditions, and the mountain itself appears in
the background.

Analyze
The great way picture shows pattern as a principle
because in the wave the colors are in pattern from light to
dark blue in the wave . Another principle is unity its
showing all the colors and line showing the wave
completely all together.

Interpret
I think the picture meaning is that there was a big storm
that happened in kanawaga. It looks like a tsunami is
about to happened by the wave in picture and people are
trying to leave or that were just out in sea when that
happened and it hit them.

Evaluate
I think this art is a great symbol for a tsunami and it
represents a big storm that washed out people on the
boat. I feel that in this picture its sad and its showing
mother nature. I personally think this a great picture I
would go see this because its showing nature and how a
tsunami is.
