Production Title: Sia

Chandelier Music Video

Brief: To create a music video using all of our own shots, props, artists and
ideas that follows the typical conventions of the chosen genre, in this
instance pop/indie pop.
Aim: To create a successful music video to the song by the iconic pop
artist Sia called Chandelier.

Description of your intentions:

The song is around 4 minutes long with a very dramatic story behind the
lyrics so will feature a variety of exciting shots with lots of different props.
I want to keep it in coordanance with Sia and her style of work so I have
chosen to use young women in my video and a strong, dramatic
performance. I also aim to oppose Sias signature style by including lip
syncing as this will act in accordance with Goodwins genre theory within
music videos. The song will play as the video cuts between each part of
the performance as it goes along. The cuts will be in time with the beat
and the lyrics in order to make the video looks as professional as possible.
I will film in the black box drama studio so that I can give the performance
a very professional and dramatic effect as it will look like a studio, as well
as reflecting the darker nature of the lyrics.
Target Audience:
My target audience will be of the pop/indie-pop fan base as this is the
genre of the song. This will enable my target audience to be very wide as
pop is the most popular/common genre of music and Sia is an artist that is
liked by a variety of age groups and genres as her songs are catchy and
very impactful.
Similar Products:
Other songs by Sia such as Alive and Elastic Heart.
Adele songs such as Hello and Turning Tables are also very similar as it
is a similar music style to Sias.
Videos that inspired me are videos such as The Scientist by Coldplay and
Chasing Pavements by Adele, as they feature similar styles and themes.
