(Homework) Suppose the velocity of an object moving along

(Homework) The function , is the velocity in m/sec of a particle moving along

Part a: Should be obvious.

Part b: Use the integral function on the calculator such as below.

Part c: Essentially youre taking all the integrals. If its going up you take the
positive, if its going down you take the negative. Add them all up

( t 310 t 2+ 24 t ) dt ( t310 t 2+ 24 t ) dt+ ( t 310 t 2+ 24 t ) dt= 296

(Example) The function , is the velocity in m/sec of a particle moving along

(Homework) A mass hanging from a spring is set

Part a: Just take the opposite (derivative?) of the trig thing they give you. Sin =>
cos, cos => sin, whatever. Keep the number value, add pi t. Just like the answer.
Part b: Graph the answer from a.
Part c: You take the trough values. Evenly spaced even a value off the screen. Just
look at the example.
Part d: Same as part c except you take the peaks that you see plus one outside
the parameters.

(Homework) Find the position and velocity of an object moving along a straight line
with

1st part: Basically, first find the antiderivative of a(t), then you plug in 0 for t and set
it equal to 15 because of v(0)=15. That lets you know that C=15. So the answer is
-0.004t^2 + 15
2nd part: Pretty much the same thing. Find the antiderivative of the new function and
plug in the given s(0)=0 and solve for C. Just follow the example.
(Example) Find the position and velocity of an object moving along a straight line

(Homework) A drag racer accelerates

Part a: s(t) is just half of a(t). Then graph the new s(t).
Part b: Punch in the given time value into s(t) and solve.

40(6)2=1440

Part c: Find out how many feet there are in 1/3 mile (1760). Take that distance and
set it equal to the function and solve for t.

40 t 2=1760,t=6.633

Part d: Set the given distance equal to s(t) and solve for t.

40 t 2=300, t=2.739

Part e: BE SURE NOT TO ROUND UNTIL THE END! COPY AND PASTE T ANSWER.

First, take the given distance and set it equal to the value of a(t) and solve for t.

solve ( 80 t =181, t ) =2.2625

Now, enter that into the position function.

s ( 2.2625 )=40 (2.2625)2 =204.756

(Homework) When records were first kept

Part a: Find the integral given the parameters and then add the given constant.
15

30 ( 1+ t ) =150 ( 2 15+3 ) =1611.9

0

Part b: Find the antiderivative.

then

1611.9+190=1801.91802

30 ( 1+ t ) dt=10 t (2 t +3)

constant.

10 t ( 2 t +3 ) +190=190+30 t+20 t

(Homework) Consider the marginal cost function

then add the given

Part b:

400+8 x0.01 x 2=9 2083.33
