Genius Hour Goals

Science K-7

Students should be able to:


- develop inquiry, problem-solving, and
decision-making abilities as citizens
- become lifelong learners
- maintain a sense of wonder about the
world around them

Students have the opportunity to:


- ponder lifes mysteries
- ask curious questions
- pursue their passions related to science
- pursue explanations for various scientific
phenomena
- investigate causation

Mathematics K-7

Students should be able to:


- use mathematics to better understand
the world around them
- appreciate and value mathematics
- use mathematics confidently to solve
problems

Students have the opportunity to:


- ask questions related to mathematics
- pursue their passions related to
mathematics
- apply mathematical skills to real life
scenarios

English Language Students should be able to:


Arts K-7
- use language confidently to understand
and respond thoughtfully and critically to
factual and imaginative communications
in speech, print, and other media
- develop the reading and writing skills
required of informed citizens
- express themselves critically, creatively,

social, and world-related purposes

events

Students should be able to:

necessary to become thoughtful, active
participants in their communities and as
global citizens
- apply their knowledge to inform their

problems, and guide their actions
