5. PROCEDURE
5.1 Daily rounds of ICU will include review of cases which fit criteria for
transfer out as outlined in the discharge criteria protocol.(SOP No.16).
5.2 These cases are specifically reviewed for transfer out in case of emergency
requirement of an ICU bed.
5.3 Their bed numbers are written down on the notice board in the ICU under
Emergency transfer Outs
5.4 The Intensivist will check and review the patient and decide on the transfer
whenever the need arises.
5.5 Consultants are then informed of the decision to transfer out their patients.
5.6 Consultants are aware that the ICU has such a protocol and their cooperation
is expected for such a transfer.
5.7 The nursing supervisor is accordingly informed to arrange for the transfer out.
