already gained a lot of experience from fashion. For college Stella McCartney went
to Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication, and did her Fashion Design
major at Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design in the early 1990s. For her
end of the year graduation, she showcased her collection at a graduation runway
show. The collection was modeled by famous friends like Naomi Campbell, Yasmin
Le Bon, and Kate Moss. Her entire collection was sold at a London Boutique in Tokyo.
Stella McCartney was appointed as a Creative Director of Chloe, Paris Fashion
House, in 1997. Then in 2001, Stella McCartney launched her own fashion house
with a 50/50 joint venture through Kering and showed her first collection in Paris.
She operated 17 freestanding stores with locations including Manhattans Soho,
Londons Mayfair, LAs West Hollywood, Paris, Milan, Rome, and Barcelona. So from
then on, Stella McCartney launched her first perfume in 2003, and in 2007 she

Stella McCartney is one of the sustainable luxury fashion designers who
actually cares about the environment and animals living on this planet. Stella
McCartney is always creating sustainable fashion that will not burn, that is not going
to landfills and is not going to damage the environment anymore. Stella
McCartneys offices and studios in the UK are only powered by wind energy and
even in other countries, 45% of their operations run 100% on renewable green
energy. She uses as much organic cotton as possible and continuously doing
research in finding new eco-friendly materials. Stella McCartney was the first luxury
brand to contribute to the Natural Resource Defense Council; their mission is to
reduce water by 25% and energy by 30% consumption. She is always trying to use
recycled textiles in her designs. She is very committed to making sustainable
fashion.
Stella McCartney has also won fashion awards. Recently she won award for
Brand of the Year during the 2015 British Fashion Awards. In Februarys 2013, she
was recognized as one of the most 100 powerful women in the United Kingdom. She
also won the Best Designer if the Year at the British Style Awards and the Green

McCartney supports many charities for instance: Animals Asia, Baby Buggy, Comic
Relief, Hello Beautiful (breast cancer foundation), Hopeful Field Sanctuary, Meat Free
Monday, Oceana, PETA, The Gentle Barn, War Child and WWF.
Why I choose Stella McCartney as my designer because she is a luxury
designer but who is a vegetarian. She doesnt use any leather or fur in her designs

and collections. She is a supporter of PETA and an Animal Activist. She has been a
lifelong vegetarian, her designs have a no animal policy. On the sleeves of her
Adidas collection it states suitable for sporty vegetarians. Because she is not a
vegan, she still uses silk and other animal-derived fabrics in her designs. She is still
is my favorite designer who has a lot of fashion experience at an early age. She is
also very creative in her designs. You dont see the plain pink color, but you more
than the pink color. Therefore, she is a very detailed Designer; she likes everything
to be perfect for her consumers. Another reason why Stella McCartney is an
awesome designer because she takes this planet accountable for the damage that
is being done to the environment. She creates sustainable, eco-friendly fashion.
Stella McCartney is my role model in the fashion industry because shes a
vegetarian and thinks about the environment when creating fashion. She is simply
an amazing Fashion Designer and gives me hope to become an ethical, environment
friendly and cruelty-free designer.
