A notary is a lawyer or person with legal training who is


licensed by the government to perform acts in legal
affairs, in particular witnessing signatures on
documents. The form that the notarial profession takes
varies with local legal systems.

Ten (seven years in case of reserved categories and


women candidates) years of practice as an advocate. A
member of the Indian Legal Service. Officer under the
Central or State Government, requiring special knowledge
of law, after enrolment as an advocate. An officer in the
department of Judge, Advocate - General or in the armed
forces

Notary Public works in a variety of settings such as


courthouses, courtrooms and law offices. Another
option is to go into business as an independent notary,
signing documents upon request. Mobile notaries travel
upon customer demand from location to location.
Mobile notaries may also be hired on a part-time, on-call
basis for public offices or other organizations.

Financial success of a Notary depends entirely upon his


experience and knowledge complemented by his public
relation. On an average a Notary can earn as good
as Rs.1000 per day or more for his services.
