Religion: We read about prayer this week. In many

scripture stories, Jesus prays in many places. We
talked about the times and places we can pray. We
used a guided reflection to listen to the story of
Jesus and the children.
Reading: We read the first story in our new reading
text. We are reviewing long and short vowel
sounds. We have added y to the list of long vowel
sounds. We wrote in our journals about this weeks
many special activities.
Math: We continued to work with related addition
and subtraction facts. We reviewed even and odd
numbers. We are also working with identifying and
describing 2 dimensional shapes.
Social Studies: We are learning about needs and
wants. We made a list of the things we need and
drew pictures for each need.

100th Day of School

We counted to 100 by 1s, 2s, 5s, and 10s. We
read stories celebrating the 100th day of
school. We completed posters and did 100
exercises. We shared our 100 lists of
things we want. We collected 167 items
for the Survival Kits!!

Each day this week we did

something special to celebrate.
We welcomed a special visitor to
our classroom on Monday. He
was a veterinarian. He and his
assistant brought his pet, a
bearded dragon lizard. He told us
about the care and feeding of it.
We discovered that Math is
yummy with a graphing
activity. We worked in
small groups to make
Spanish ABC books.
