The GLIDE program at Osborne High School aims to promote student curiosity, engagement, and development of ideas at the intersection of STEM, construction, arts, and humanities. Students in the program will start with an engineering, construction, physics, and math core, and then expand their learning across disciplines. For example, students may design a trebuchet in one class, build it in another, and test it in a third, earning credits and solving problems along the way.

Osborne High School GLIDErs will help shape the future. GLIDE (Guiding Learners through Innovation, Design and Engineering) is planned to promote student curiosity, engagement and the development of ideas that synergize STEM based practices as well as construction, the arts and the humanities. Students who join the GLIDErs will start with engineering, construction, physics and mathematics as their core focus and then expand on those ideas as they advance through the pathways. Imagine designing a trebuchet (catapult type siege engine from ancient battlefields) in one class, building it in another and then testing it as part of a third course. All while earning credit, solving problems and finding your niche within todays fast paced world or evolving technologies and ideas.
