Interrogation- The act of interrogating or questioning


Psychological- of, pertaining to, dealing with, or affecting the mind, especially as a function of

awareness, feeling, or motivation


Jim Crow Laws- a practice or policy of segregating or discriminating against blacks, as in public
places, public vehicles, or employment
Third Degree- intensive questioning or rough treatment, especially by the police, in order to get
information or a confession
Coercion- force or the power to use force in gaining compliance, as by a government or police
force

Immunity- Law. exemption from criminal prosecution or legal liability or punishment on certain

conditions.
Precedent- Law. a legal decision or form of proceeding serving as an authoritative rule or pattern in
future similar or analogous cases.

Indigent- lacking food, clothing, and other necessities of life because of poverty; needy; poor;
impoverished.
Prosecution- the institution and carrying on of legal proceedings against a person.
Counsel- the advocate or advocates engaged in the direction of a cause in court; a legal adviser
or counselor; usually a lawyer.
Appellate Court Admissible- that may be allowed or conceded; allowable
Compel- To cause an action by force or overwhelming pressure
Confession- a formal, usually written, acknowledgment of guilt by a person accused of a crime.
