Main Question:Are transport facilities sufficient for all groups in society
in your region and what are the traffic safety issues in
for groups in your region?
Sub Questions:Q1. Define your region with a short explanation (5 lines).
Ans1. Bhandup is the largest region of Mumbai city and has
the largest population in the same. It has Asias largest water
purifying system.
The Area where we live in is very well facilitated with good
schools, luxurious apartments and also recreational activity
centres. Bhandup is also well connected to other parts of the
city by roads and rails.

Q2. (a)Which are the private and public means of transport

used by different groups of people in your region?
(b)Which traffic safety problem do different group of people
experience?

Ans2. (a)The different types of private and public means of

transport used by different groups of people are as follows:Low earning group- Usually by train or bus and sometimes by
rickshaw.
Middle group- Mostly by rickshaw, train, bus or car.
High Earning group- Mostly by car.

(b)The most common problem faced by cars is the excess

amount of traffic on the road. Due to the high population of
bhandup, this happens.
But in case of public transport there is a major problem that is,
the problem of overcrowded trains in the rush hour of the day.
In buses and rickshaws the problem faced is traffic.

Q3. What is the fastest and most convenient mode of transport

in your region?
Ans3. Trains. Without a doubt. Trains are not only the fastest
but also the cheapest and most convenient mode of transport
in our region. Each and every one of the people in our region is
able to afford a train ticket.

Q4. Are the people of your region satisfied with the mode of
transportin relation with proper connectivity to their needs.
Ans4. They probably arent satisfied. The fact that you can
take a lot of time to reach a place which is not that far away
irritates people. Traffic is one the major causes for the
dissatisfaction of the people.
The only way you can reach fast to a place is by train, which is
again overcrowded which again irritates the Mumbaikars
(people of Mumbai).

Q5. Is the public satisfied by the public means of transport and

the fare? Why?
Ans5. Yes, to an extent the public is satisfied by the public
transport and the fare. Although some people do think that the
fare of rickshaws is not appropriate, they enjoy the ride and the
fact that the can go to places so quickly.

Q6. How do people travel to school or work on a day to day

basis? How do people make use of pooling resources for getting
to places?
Ans6. Most of the people make use of private cars or rickshaws
to get to work on a day to day basis. Some people go to work
and school by train.
As far as pooling is concerned, it is not very popular and is not
used very often by the people.
