Yes.

Okay, and, umm, just explain how long you know her, and how you
--
DUNSWORTH:
12
DRUMMOND:
Mm-hmm.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
--when we met.
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
Umm, so its 14 years, and we have, umm, over the years, formed a
really close friendship that extends to not being just work-
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
13
DUNSWORTH:
Yes, I do.
DRUMMOND:
Okay, so, umm, can you just sort of tell me about that, umm, when
you were told about it, and what you were told, to the best of your
recollection?
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Mm-hmm.
DUNSWORTH:
Umm, she doesnt go out on a lot of dates, and usually if she does
go on a date, she will call me afterwards and tell me about it, or if
shes interested in someone, she will talk to me about it. And she
called me after she had gone on a date with, umm, jian. I think
she had gone on more than one, umm, and she had told me that
she was gonna go on these dates, and stuff, but did she call me
after one, like a few days afterwards. Umm, if you knew Lucy,
V
DRUMMOND:
Mm-hmm.
DUNSWORTH:
And 1 said,
Oh, oh-oh, what happened?
And she described an incident in which she had gone to his house,
and that he had ended up puthng his hands on her neck and
choking her.
DRUMMOND:
Mm-hmm.
DUNSWORTI-{:
No, thats
--
--
was asking if it was normal, but she was, you know, just reaching
out to a girlfriend.
DRUMMOND:
Mm-hmm.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Mm-hmm.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Okay
15
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
DUNSWORTH
Sure
DRUMMOND:
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Okay, where were you living at the time when you got the call?
DUNSWORTH:
Iwas-
DRUMMOND:
Or where were you when you got the call, I guess I should say?
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND
Okay
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
Yeah.
DRUMMOND:
Okay, so, umm, you said that you imew previous that she was
going to be going out with --on a date of him?
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
Yeah.
DRUMMOND:
DUNSWORTH:
Afterwards, yes.
DRUMMOND:
--
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Mm-hmm.
--
17
DUNSWORTH:
In my recollection-
DRUMMOND:
Mm-hmm.
DUNSWORTI-I:
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
Thats
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Yeah. Okay, right. So, umm, so you are having this phone
--
--
--
or had she
DUNSWORTH:
She didnt
--
because it made
--
DRUMMOND:
Yeah.
DUNSWORTI-I:
--is that she told me that she went to his house, and that he ended
18
up choking her-
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Mm-hmm.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Okay, okay, yeah, Did she talk about like, umm, what was going on
when she got-- when he choked her, or what the context of it was,
or what they were doing when it happened?
DIJNSWORTH:
The way
DRUMMOND:
Mm-hmm.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Mm-hmm.
DUNSWORTH:
--
--
I said, like,
19
DRUMMOND:
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
--so its
DRUMMOND:
Okay, umm, actually and then I will ask you that, so have you
--
yeah.
--
so
have you had any recent communication? So you said you guys
discussed it later in years or
DUNSWORTI-I:
We have
--
--
years.
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
--on his radio show. And we talked about it, of course, before that
happened-
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
--and it was really awkward, umm, but yeah, it has been an openits not like we dwell on it, or talk about it all the time, but if he
comes up in conversation
--
--
we have talked about it, not like a huge issue, but just like
DRUMMOND:
--
--
DUNSWORTH:
--
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
Umm, but just professionally like that. I havent met him, umm,
outside of that one incident. Oh, Im sure Ive seen him at like
Gemini awards, and stuff like that. I probably met him at the
Geminis one year, but were certainly not in any contact, okay.
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
Yeah.
DRUMMOND:
Okay, so I guess like the biggest contact you had is with-- doing an
interview radio
--
or a radio interview?
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Okay, and that-- you said that you think that that was a couple of
years after the incident?
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
--
22
DRUMMOND:
Okay, and it was you and Lucy getting interviewed that day?
DUNSWORTH:
Yeah.
DRUMMOND:
DUNSWO RTR:
DRUMMOND:
DUNSWORTI-I:
DRUMMOND:

DUNSWORTH:
And we often

DUNSWORTH:
And also because were friends, and its more fun, thats the other
--
as a team.
part, yeah
DRUMMOND:
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Okay. Umm, so then well go back, and the question was, do you
have
--
--
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Right
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Right.
DUNSWORTH:
And she is about to embark bn this huge thing. She told me about
this-
DRUMMOND:
Mm hmm.
DUNSWORTH:
--before she went public, umm, just to even sort of warn me.
DRUMMOND:
Right.
DUNSWORTH:
--
we didnt really
DRUMMOND:
Right.
DUNSWORTH:
Umm, its just a fact-- you know, its a fact that as between two
friends that I know about the incident.
DRUMMOND:
Right. Right.
DUNSWORTH:
25
DRUMMOND:
DUNSWORTH:
Yeah.
DRUMMOND:
--
--
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Mm-hmm.

Right
DUNSWORTH:
--
--
come forward-
--
had happened with her, and that if she was able to, she was
probably going to go press charges.
DRUMMOND:
Okay. All right Umm, and then in saying that, did you have an
independent recollection of the incident, umm, DeCoutere had
told you about before the recent contact with her?
DUNSWORTH:
26
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Mm-hmm.
DUNSWORTI-l:
--I was pretty sure that they were true because I had had this
previous imowledge about him.
DRUMMOND:
Mm-hmm.
DUNSWORTH:
And when that all became public, Lucy and I, I think we probably
talked the day after.
DRUMMOND:
Mm-hmm.
DUNSWORTH:
Umm, he got fired from CBC and we talked about, you imow, what
it could possibly-
DRUMMOND:
Mm-hmm.
DUNSWORTH:
--be about
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
--
No, no, no, thats fine. Yeah, no, the question was, thatyour --your
memory of what she told you a long time ago, if that was
Cinaudible)

DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Any conversation
DUNSWORTH:

thought she went on
--
with him?
DUNSWORTH:
Tm pretty sure she went on more than one date with him.
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Right.
DUNSWQRTH:
I think she went out-- she either went out with him once before it
happened, or once after it happened, and I cant-
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
---went on a date with him before, and they went out somewhere.
And then the second time she went over to his house-
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Okay, and she didnt tell you about anything else that happened on
the other dates?
DUNSWORTH:
Ahhh, all I remember is just like the sense that she wasnt really
that into him.
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Okay.
DUNSWORTH:
DRUMMOND:
Right
--
-31
DUNSWORTH:

arrogant.

it come up then, too?
