My name is Brianna McLaren and I am currently in the Practical Nursing Program at NorQuest College,
scheduled to receive my diploma this May. While searching for jobs on the Alberta Health Services
website, I came across your job posting for a full-time Practical Nursing position for Medicine at the
Royal Alexandra Hospital.
Throughout my time at NorQuest I have acquired nursing knowledge, gained experience in the clinical
setting, as well as developed effective communication skills. I am able to successfully assess patients and
as a result, recognize and respond appropriately to changes in status. I also possess a caring and
compassionate attitude that I feel would be appropriate for this position. I believe that my experience at
the Royal Alexandra, specifically in general medicine, would benefit me for this particular job. I was able
to do my acute care clinical rotation on Unit 53 where I familiarized myself with the hospital, as well as
