What we are trying to figure out....
Our family wants to figure out how much water we drink in a day
How many 8 ounce plastic water bottles we are saving by drinking out
of our reusable water bottles instead of plastic water bottles.
How are we going to figure it out?......
First we will figure out how many ounces each of our water bottles will
hold.
Next we will estimate how many water bottles each person will drink
in a day.
After a day of logging everyone's water drinking, we had our results.
We added everyone's ounces up to come up with the total for the day
Then we divided the total number of ounces by 8 since there are 8
ounces in each plastic water bottle to figure out how many 8 ounce
plastic water bottles we have saved.

Our math problem was to figure out how many 8
ounce water bottles we save a day and how many
total ounces of water we drink a day
We used math to solve our problem by logging
our total ounces of water in one day. Then we
divided the total number of ounces by 8.
