Service Opportunities for Lent

March 13th we will be packing non perishable lunches for the

homeless between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the Reed Room.
There will be a designated bin in the Reed Room to place items such
as Vienna sausage, Beanie Weenies, pull tab cans of tuna or
sardines, peanut butter crackers, fruit cups, granola bars, cookies
and box fruit drinks or bottles of water.

During the remainder of the month of February we invite you to

Pay it Forward by purchasing the meal or drink of a person or
family behind you at a fast food restaurant, dine-in restaurant, or
another local hangout. Share your story, if you wish, by posting
photos on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram with the hashtag
#BeKindCville.

During March, you are invited to bring socks (new, still packaged)
and toilet paper (in original packaging) donations to Aldersgate and
leave them in the marked bins in the Reed Room. These items will
be delivered to The Haven in Charlottesville to help the homeless. If
you wish, you may let us know when you are out shopping by
posting photos on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.

During the month of March, we also encourage you to sign-up to

prepare a meal at the Ronald McDonald House this spring with your
family or small group, gather a small group together to visit a local
nursing home to pray for their residents and sing their favorite
hymns with them, or sign-up to help host an upcoming dinner for
area refugees.

There will be wish lists in the Reed Room for the Ronald McDonald
House and Greer Elementary School. Bring these items in and we
will see they are delivered. Please mark items RMH or Greer.

A hike is scheduled for Easter Saturday, March 26. We will meet at

AUMC at 9am and will be heading up the Parkway or Skyline Drive.
Please see sign-up sheet in the Reed Room for further information.

Our team is the responsible body for the faithful and spiritual
implementation of internal and external communications about our
churchs programs, services, people, events, activities, outreach, and
missions. Our mission is to implement methods and means of
communicating fully and completely about who we are and what we do
as a church in order to strengthen our bonds as a Body of Christ, not
only as members within our own church, but as evangelists to the
community at large.

A Note of Thanks
Thank you to every one of you who donated to the Bibles for Africa
project. Because of your generosity, $5,000 was raised to provide
Bibles written in the Xitswa dialect spoken by our brothers and sisters in

access to the Scriptures in the language they fully understand.
