During March, you are invited to bring socks (new, still packaged)
and toilet paper (in original packaging) donations to Aldersgate and
leave them in the marked bins in the Reed Room. These items will
be delivered to The Haven in Charlottesville to help the homeless. If
you wish, you may let us know when you are out shopping by
posting photos on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
There will be wish lists in the Reed Room for the Ronald McDonald
House and Greer Elementary School. Bring these items in and we
will see they are delivered. Please mark items RMH or Greer.
Lenten Study
Our Lenten Study Near the Cross by Kenneth H. Carter, Jr. is a sevenweek study on prayer. Discover how prayer draws us near the cross
and into the heart of Jesus.
A Note of Thanks
Thank you to every one of you who donated to the Bibles for Africa
project. Because of your generosity, $5,000 was raised to provide
Bibles written in the Xitswa dialect spoken by our brothers and sisters in
Mozambique. We praise God that over 380 families will now have
access to the Scriptures in the language they fully understand.
Rev. Don MacNicoll, Assistant Pastor for Congregational Care

Pastoral Transition

Superintendent of the Virginia Conference of The United Methodist
Church, shared that Bishop Cho has appointed Scott Davis, our lead
pastor, as the new District Superintendent of the Lynchburg District

Our goal is to provide 50 sundresses for the young girls in the Robert
Ford Haitian Orphanage. Dr. Dave Reynolds will deliver the dresses to
the orphanage when he goes on a medical mission trip to Cap-Haitian in
April. We need your help to make this dream come true. If you are
interested in assisting with this project, please consider the following
opportunities:
Join others in sewing the dresses. During February, the Busy Hands
Fellowship will be coordinating sewing sessions in the Reed Room on
Thursdays from 11am to 2 pm. All skill levels are welcome for cutting,
pinning, sewing, and ironing the dresses. Bring a bag lunch.
Provide fabric for dresses. Each dress requires 1 - 1 yards of 100%
cotton fabric.
MESSIAH
An Oratorio in Three Parts, by George Frideric Handel
A change has been made in the plans for "Messiah." Now, a video of a
performance, performed by the Choir of King's College, Cambridge, will
be shown in the Sanctuary on March 6, from 2:30 pm to about 5:00 pm.
There will be an intermission of about 10 to 15 minutes after Part 1.
If you don't have this much time to spare, or wish to listen only to
your favorite parts, please feel free to come and go as you wish.
