    Kid's guitar - lesson 1:

    3 mins - Names of the strings - short test


    Reading tab/notation - refer to first piece
    Reading basic rhythms - half-notes (minim), whole-notes (semibreve)
    Game - don't clap this one back
    Test - names of strings
    Holding the guitar
    Holding the pick
    Lesson 1 - open season and/or crossing over
    If time look at final piece - teach quarter notes (quavers)
    Homework - practise open season and crossing over - if good then try working out
    you're the one.
    Lesson 2:
    tune guitar
    previous week's piece - play with backing - how to hold the guitar
    test on string names
    frets!
    fret/string name game
    test his knowledge with rhythms (whole/half)
    introduce the quarter note (quavers)
    play rhythm game with new piece "keep it clean"
    see how lesson develops
