THE ATP MAKES

GREAT THINGS

COMMUNITY

predictor of student academic

achievement is parental involvement.
Thats why the ATP is committed
to creating frequent and regular
opportunities to engage parents in
their childrens education.

COMMITTED
TO STUDENTS
THE COMMUNITY

&

MTS organized an Action Team for

Partnerships (ATP) in 2012 in order to
better connect families, students, staff
and the community to enhance student
learning. When we work together to
grow and connect resources, students
thrive.
A is for Action. The ATP is a
committed group of staff and parents
working together to coordinate
activities and events and solve
important issues so that the school is a
better place for its students.

For the greatest impact, the ATP began

creating regular events that would
appeal to and engage parents. Some of
the events the ATP has coordinated:
Regular, monthly parent nights
and open houses where record
numbers of parents attended
Conducted regular sessions on
student and family portal access
Gave away coats in a Family Coat
Drive
Increased regular communication
with families

A REAL
OPPORTUNITY
Along with continuing to offer families
the resources they need to help their
students succeed, the ATP wants to
engage our community partners.
Some upcoming plans are:
Collaborative events outside
the school where families and
neighbors gather and work
together and celebrate
Create a staff network as a
resource to each other and
students
Parenting classes
Banquets, awards and celebrations
Newsletter and blogs for sharing
and ideas
Consider joining the ATP -- were
making a real difference here at MTS.
Our group meets every Tuesday at
2:00.
