The scafe l4x,2x, 1x, 112x, 1/4x) indicates exposure factor. You get
"normal" exposure at 1x, while 1 l2x and 1/4x automatically
program the camera to deliver one half and one fourth the amount
of light to the film. The 2x and 4x settings automatically double and
q u a d r u p l e t h e l i g h t r e a c h i n gt h e f i l m .

REMEMBER to setthe dial at


"1x" tor normal exposure.

mirror may fail to drop back down into place.
To bring the mirror down, simplymove the shutter

Super-Takumar and SMC Takumar) can be easily
mounted onto your camera by attaching them first
to a Mount Adaptor K. Use of the Mount Adaptor
K does not affect any aspect of normal lens
function except as regards the following two
points:

Due to the difference in coupling systems, the
automatic diaphragm will not function.
2.
Full-aperture metering lenseswill function as
stop-down metering lenses.

Screw the conventional Takumar lens into the
Mount Adaptor K.
2.
Attach the Adaptor/lens unit to the camera body

Your camera is not waterproof . There are several
placeswhere water can get inside and do a great
deal of damage. Take care to protect both body
a n d l e n s f r o m r a i n o r s p l a s h i n gw a t e r . l f y o u r
camera should get wet, dry it off immediately
w i t h a c l e a n ,s o f t c l o t h .
Once a camera has become completely soaked,
there is often nothing that can be done to make it
right again. However, in such a case,take your
cameraas soon as possible to an authorized Asahi
Pentax Service Center.

Where to keep your camera while you are not
using it is an important point. The best storage
pface is cool , dry , clean and well-ventilated.
B e c a u s eo f t h e p o s s i b l eb u i l d - u p o f h u m i d i t y , i t i s
risky to store your camera in a cabinet or closet.
It's also a good idea to keep your camera in its
b a g o r c a s ew h i l e y o u a r e n o t u s i n g i t .

W h e n m o u n t i n g y o u r c a m e r ao n a t r i p o d , b e s u r e
the tripod screw is no longerthan 5.5mm. This is
the depth of the tripod screw hole on your
c a m e r a . l f y o u u s e a l o n g e r s c r e w ,y o u w i l l
probably puncture the bottom of the hole, after
w h i c h t h e c a m e r aw i l l n o t f u n c t i o n p r o p e r l y .
