Chemistry is the study of matter and energy. This study involves math, memorization, logic, and the
understanding of complex concepts. It can be a difficult course at times, but it is NOT an impossible
course. You will have to do homework almost every night. You will have to study. When you leave my
class at the end of the school year, you will be ready for college chemistry.
Academic Honor Statement: An essential feature of Ridgeway High School is a commitment to maintaining
an atmosphere of intellectual integrity and academic honesty. As a student of Ridgeway High School, I
pledge that I will neither knowingly give nor receive any inappropriate assistance in academic work, thus
affirming my own personal commitment to honor and integrity.

Statements:
I, _____________________________________________________(student name), have read and understood
the class syllabus and academic honesty clause. I understand any infraction (e.g., plagiarism,
copying, cheating) results in a permanent notation in my student record, and may lead to failure
in the course.

I, _____________________________________________________(student name), have read the required

materials list and will have all of my materials ready for each class every day. I understand that
failure to be prepared for class will result in incomplete grades for classwork.
