Chemistry is the study of matter and energy. This study involves math, memorization, logic, and the
understanding of complex concepts. It can be a difficult course at times, but it is NOT an impossible
course. You will have to do homework almost every night. You will have to study. When you leave my
class at the end of the school year, you will be ready for college chemistry.

Grading:
Classroom Expectations:
Everyone will have good attendance and be on time with materials in class with you. Materials are
text book, paper, pencil, calculator, and homework completed. If you are tardy, you must have a
pass.
Everyone will be treated with respect and will be polite to each other.
Make-up work is defined as work you did not receive or complete when you were out of school for
an excused absence. All make-up work (tests, labs, handouts. etc.) is conducted after school.
Make-up time is only offered during tutoring hours.
Late work is defined as work you did not turn at the time it was due and you were present at school.
Late work is accepted for a grade of 50% the next day. After two days late work will not be
accepted for a grade.
No bathroom passes while I am teaching, nor during the first / last 15 minutes of class.
All work turned in should be turned in by YOU to me. Do NOT turn in work to my mail box in the
office. Do NOT have a friend deliver your work to me.
Tutoring hours are: Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. No tardies will be allowed
to tutoring. Appointments outside of scheduled hours are permitted with 24-hour notice.
