Parents and Families,

We would like you to ensure that you know how we will be supporting special needs fully as the general
educaitons. We would like to share three abilities.
ADA : Americans with Disabilities Act
This is law was enacted by the U.S. Congress in 1990. This law made discrimination based on race,
religion, sex, national origin, and other characteristics illegal. ADA also requires covered employers to
provide reasonable accommodations to employees with disabilities, and imposes accessibility
requirements on public accommodations.
IDEA: Individuals with Disabilities Education Act
As the nations special education law, IDEA provides rights and protections to children with disabilities
and to their parents. Learning your rights under IDEA can make it easier for your child to get the help he
needs (and is legally entitled to) at school.
Assistive Technology Act
This provide federal funding from the U.S. Department of Education to each state and territory to support
"State efforts to improve the provision of assistive technology to individuals with disabilities of all ages
through comprehensive statewide programs of technology-related assistance."
50,000,000 individuals with disabilities in the United States, these programs are available to provide them
with assistance in selecting and acquiring assistive technology, defined as any device that would help
them perform tasks that would otherwise be difficult or impossible.
We will support your children using these abilities and we would directly contact you. Please send me an
email so we can further discuss about it.
My email address is: sarhadowd@u.boisestate.edu
Thank you.
