The Bible in the Trash Can During a distribution in a restricted country, the Imam’s son received a gift box along with a Bible. Thrilled to show his gifts to his family, the boy went home with his treasures. However, as soon as his father saw the Bible as part of his gifts, he grabbed it and threw it into the trash can. The boy cried, pleading to keep his present, but the father, the Imam, insisted that the Bible would never be allowed in the house. That night, the Imam had a dream and in this dream, Jesus came to him and told him to read the Bible. So the Imam went out to the trash can, dug out the Bible he had previously thrown away, and began to read. Later, he went to a church and asked one of the elders to explain the portions he had been reading. In a matter of weeks, the Imam came to faith in Christ. Six months later, the Imam resigned from his position as a religious leader of the town. He bought a taxi and began a new job as a taxi driver. The town was astonished that an Imam would give up such a prominent position to drive a taxi, but in this new position of little status, the former Imam has found countless opportunities to share the good news of the Gospel. Now he meets with Christians in secret and continues to grow in his own walk with Jesus, while encouraging others. ul)
