- Hardships along the way
- One shot (six cuts) says it all
Breakdown:
Shot 1: The main character is centre frame (abbrev:MCCF) in perfect
focus, shallow focus casts the background into a blur. He stares
down, only showing his emotion with his eyes. Behind him a couple
argue and the man hits the woman, knocking her to the floor. He
advances towards the camera and slaps the main character on the
back of the head.

CUT.
Shot 2: (MCCF) cut back in as someones elbow bumps him in the
back of the head as they brush past him on a bus. He is travelling to a
new location, his clothes in a black bin bag on his lap. He is bumped
again, looks up but is spat in the face. He looks back down to the
floor as the spit runs down his cheek.
CUT.
Shot 3: (MCCF) stands outside ED, the hustle and bustle of student
life around him. Laughter is all around him but he is isolated from his
surroundings by the frame and focus. He looks up to the sky, still
unsure of the future but hoping.
Shot 4: (MCCF) a pat on the back from one of the RAs as he is shown
into his room. Quick flashes as he lays out small items which
represent him on the desk in his new room (Lighter, wallet, phone,
a picture of his family?).
Shot 5: (MCCF) in the kitchen he is sat alone at the table. An unseen
character (out of frame) places a beer down on the table in front of
him/in his hand and pats him on the shoulder. He looks up, his eyes
saying thank you.
Shot 6: Title card: Emily Davies, a great place to be.
Shot 7: Southampton Solent University logo.

Scrims Natural lighting makes the most sense for this production as
we want a real feel to the visuals, however lights can factor in if

need be. Scrims will reflect the natural light available in ways which
we can use).
