Nicole Truitt has been working as an adjunct in our English department for three years,
and for the last two years I have partnered with her developing and teaching a learning
community (two or more linked courses) at Delaware Technical Community College. Our
learning community was worth seven credits and included three courses: Critical Reading
and Thinking, Composition, and Diversity Relations; our theme was multicultural and
global awareness, and we focused our reading and writing on this theme.
It was a pleasure working with Nicole. Her enthusiasm for teaching and her creativity in
lesson development has been inspiring. She is a tireless worker who worked in two
different departments here at Delaware Technical Community College while
simultaneously running an afterschool program for elementary students focusing on
environmental education. Nicole is knowledgeable, approachable, talented, and friendly.
She quickly gained the respect of both her colleagues and students.
I highly recommend Nicole for the multicultural program coordinator position at Salisbury
