2)

ANNUAL COURSE PROVIDER ACCREDITATION FEES

a)

Why do NEBOSH Accredited Course Providers pay an annual fee?

The annual Course Provider fee helps to cover the cost of communicating with you, processing your
data, advertising your course dates on our website and the monitoring activities that we are required
by our regulators to undertake.

b)

How much is the annual Course Provider fee?

For providers offering the National or International
Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety

1,100

Any single qualification (excluding the National and International Diploma)

305

Each additional qualification (excluding the National and International Diploma) -

30

c)

We offer the National and International Diplomas. How much is our annual fee?
If youre accredited to offer both the National and International Diploma you pay one fee of 1,100

d)

We offer the National Diploma, National General Certificate, Construction Certificate and
Fire Certificate as well as the Health and Safety at Work qualification. How much is our
annual fee?
Your annual fee will be 1,495 in total. For example 1,100 for the Diploma, 305 for the first
qualification (in this example the National General Certificate) and 90 for the additional qualifications
(in this example the Construction Certificate, Fire Certificate and Health and Safety at Work
qualification).

e)

We offer the International General Certificate, International Construction Certificate and the
Health and Safety at Work qualification. How much is our annual fee?
Your annual fee will be 365 in total. For example 305 for the first qualification (in this example the
International General Certificate) and 60 for the additional qualifications (in this example the
International Construction Certificate and Health and Safety at Work qualification.

f)

What about the National Diploma in Environmental Management?

For the annual Course Provider fee, this falls within the 'any single qualification' category.

g)

When are annual fees paid?

Annual Course Provider Accreditation fees are invoiced to all Course Providers in April of each year for
the following year. For example, you will be invoiced in March 2015 to cover the annual fee from
April 2015 to March 2016.

h)

We only became an Accredited Course Provider in January. Will we have to pay an annual
renewal fee in April?
Payment of your first application fee for accreditation includes your first 12 months annual fee.
However, you will be required to pay in advance a pro rata annual fee that takes you up to your first
renewal.
For example, if you applied for accreditation to offer the International Diploma from January 2015
(and this was your first Diploma level application) you would be required to pay 2,200 - the
application fee. This application fee includes your first 12 months annual fee; therefore you would not
be required to pay an annual fee until January 2016. However, you will be required to pay in advance
for three months (pro rata) to take you up to the end of March 2016 (which will be invoiced in March
2015). From April 2016 you will then be required to pay your annual fee as standard.

i)

Is there a charge for renewal of accreditation?

The period of accreditation as a Course Provider can vary from one year to three years, depending
upon the Course Provider and the qualification. When the accreditation period expires, there is no
charge made for its renewal, over and above the annual Course Provider fee.

3)

COURSE PROVIDER ON DEMAND SITTING FEES

a)

What are on demand sittings?

NEBOSH sets a number of examinations on specific days in the year. These are known as 'standard
sittings'.
For most Certificate level qualifications these standard sittings take place quarterly. Standard sittings
for Diploma level qualifications are twice per year. Examination dates are published on our website.
For Certificate level qualifications, Accredited Course Providers can request that examinations take
place on different dates to the standard sittings. These are known as 'on demand sittings'.
For Award level qualifications, Accredited Course Providers must request the date of the examination.
There are currently no standard sittings for these qualifications.

b)

Why is there a fee for on demand sittings?

For on demand sittings, NEBOSH must set an examination question paper to the same standard as
examinations on standard sittings. Proper examiner, marking and operational resources must also be
in place for each on demand exam. The on demand sitting fees applicable are paid by the Course
Provider.

c)

Are on demand sitting fees charged per candidate?

No. On demand sitting fees are charged per examination venue.

d)

Do I still have to pay Candidate Registration fees as well as an on demand sitting fee?
Yes you will.

e)

What is meant by 'single unit only' and 'whole qualification'?

'Single unit only' means an exam sitting where just one unit (exam paper) of the Certificate
qualification is taken.
'Whole qualification' means an examination sitting where all units (exam paper) of the Certificate
qualification are taken. Please note that the NEBOSH International Technical Certificate in Oil and Gas
Operational Safety examination is considered a whole qualification.
On demand sitting fees do not apply to practical units as these are always assessed by Course
Providers and not by written examination. However, an individual candidate registration fee is payable
for practical units. The practical assessment must be completed within 14 days of the written papers.

f)

How much are on demand sitting fees for Award level qualifications?
Award level qualification examinations in the UK and Ireland (north and south)
whole qualification
- 60 per venue
Award level qualification examinations outside the UK and Ireland (north and south)
whole qualification
- 80 per venue
The administration fee for examinations held outside the UK and Ireland for Award level qualifications
have been included within the on demand sitting fees.

g)

How much are on demand sitting fees for Certificate level qualifications?
The following variables effect the on demand sitting fee applicable for Certificate level qualifications:
Exam venue location
If the registration is for a single unit or the whole qualification
Parchment delivery location
If the British Council / Ecole are required
The fees that apply as a result are outlined on the NEBOSH fees list available on our website.

h)

What if we request an on demand examination covering two individual units for the same
qualification on the same day but at different venues what would be charged?
Then two single unit only on demand sitting fees per venue will be payable.

NEBOSH Fees List QA Version 4-April 2015 - March 2016v1

i)

How early should a request for a Certificate level on demand sitting be submitted by a
Course Provider?
A minimum of 30 working days written notice must be given to NEBOSH before the proposed date of
the on demand examination.

j)

How early should a request for an Award-level on demand sitting be submitted by a Course
Provider?
Requests for the Award Level examinations normally need to be submitted 20 working days before the
examination. However, if payment is via the invoice option, we recommend that Course Providers
submit a request 30 working days before the examination date to ensure we receive payment.

k)

If we cancel an on demand examination, will we get our on demand sitting fee back?
On demand sitting fees are refundable if cancelled 30 working days before the examination date.

l)

Is it possible to request an on demand sitting for a Diploma level qualification?

No. On demand sittings are available for Certificate and Award level qualifications only.

m) I have heard it is possible for Course Providers to review candidates scripts after results
have been declared. Is this correct, and if so, is there a charge for this?
This can happen, but only in exceptional circumstances. If a request to review a script is accepted, then
the review must take place at the NEBOSH offices in Leicester. Fees are based on a daily charge of
600. You will be charged on a pro-rata basis for the time it takes to prepare and review the scripts.
4)

COURSE PROVIDER STANDARD SITTING FEES

a)

What is a 'standard administration fee'?

A standard administration fee is charged to Course Providers where standard sittings take place
outside of the UK and Ireland (North and South). This is to cover courier and packaging costs of
despatching examination materials overseas. The fee is 95 per package of examination materials.

b)

What is the standard administration fee if I have multiple examinations in the same week?
The fee would normally be 95. For example, if you were running standard sittings for the National
General Certificate and the Environmental Certificate at the same venue you would only be charged
once.
However, if you were using several overseas venues for a single exam and wanted examination
materials sent to each venue, then we would charge a standard administration fee per venue, i.e per
package.
In exceptional circumstances, there may be more than one standard administration fee charged, such
as when there is an unusually high number of candidates.

If you believe a result does not match your reasonable expectations, the appropriate Enquiry About
Result (EAR) form must be completed and sent to NEBOSH within one calendar month of the date of
issue of the result.
The necessary forms, together with further information about EARs and Appeals procedures, can be
found on our website. http://www.nebosh.org.uk/About_Nebosh/
