This document provides instructions for using Polito's 5-step lesson plan template. The template includes an entry event on day 1 to introduce the driving question. For subsequent days, it involves 5 steps: 1) an introduction with a hook and homework reconnect, 2) teaching significant content through whole or small group methods, 3) guided practice for critical thinking or collaboration, 4) independent practice allowing student choice and voice, and 5) closing the lesson through assessment, critique and revision, or setting up questions for the next lesson.
