Dog Bite Request For Information
The Overland Park Police Department / Animal Control Unit would like the publics assistance in
locating a dog, and its owner, involved in a reported dog bite investigation. The incident occurred
on February 20th, 2016, around 2:30 PM, in the 7800 block of W 61st Street.
The female victim reported that she was riding a bike when the dog broke free from its owners
control and bit her leg. The female victim received minor puncture wounds as a result of the dog
bite.
Before leaving the area the female victim exchanged information with the dog owner. After
returning home the female victim attempted to contact the dog owner, but learned the information
provided to her was incorrect. Officers completed an area canvass but were unable to locate the
dog, or its owner.
The dog was described as a being white, muscular, and weighing approximately 30 to 60 pounds.
The victim thought the dog was possibly an English Bulldog. The dog owner was described as a
white female, approximately 40 years old, with curly / short brown hair. The victim also advised
the dog owner was approximately 504 feet tall and weighed approximately 140 pounds.
