To live a proper life in this material world one should
approach a spiritual master. All vedic scriptures says this. In the
war between Pandavas and Kauravas, Arjuna was thinking how he
can kill his own cousins. So he got confused and he surrendered to
Krishna. He asked Krishna to take him as his disciple. Krishna
accepted him as disciple and so he became the spiritual master for
Arjuna. Then Krishna spoke Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna.
