Analyzing SMART Goals


SMART Goal: By November 2015, all 5th grade ELA teachers will meet on the first Tuesday of
each month to discuss trends in student assessment data.
Strategies and Action Steps: I will make sure that all 5th grade ELA teachers are notified one
week in advance of the scheduled Tuesday meeting.
Assessments:

4th grade student DRA scores


FAIR AP1 scores
Recent running records
Weekly vocabulary scores
Weekly comprehension scores
Weekly writing observations and/or scores

Who Is Responsible? All of the 5th grade ELA teachers


Target Date or Timeline: November 3, 2015
Evidence of Effectiveness: All 5th grade ELA teachers will be aware of trends in student
assessment data and will begin implementation of remediation or enrichment within their own
classrooms.

SMART Goal: By November 2015, all 5th grade teachers will identify students that are
considered to be in Tier 3, based on standardized assessment data for R.T.I.
Strategies and Action Steps: I will schedule a 30 minute meeting after school to discuss
possible students in the Tier 3 category.

Weekly reading assessments (vocabulary & comprehension)
Math chapter assessments
Math unit assessments

Who Is Responsible? All 5th grade teachers.

Evidence of Effectiveness: All 5th grade teachers will have identified all Tier 3 students and
begin discussing implementation of remediation.
