Toni Atkins Endorsed By Peace Officers Research Association of

California (PORAC) in her bid for State Senate
Today, the Peace Officers Research Association of California representing 66,000
public safety officers throughout the state endorsed Speaker of the State Assembly Toni
Atkins in her run for the 39th State Senate District, praising her commitment to keeping
San Diego safe.
Toni Atkins has been a fierce advocate for public safety since her days on the City
Council and has continued the fight as Speaker of the State Assembly. Her leadership
has provided our officers with the resources they need to combat crime and protect San
Diego families in their homes and on our streets, said PORAC President Michael
Durant. Her willingness to stand up to special interests and put the safety of
communities first will make her a tremendous State Senator.
I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Peace Officers Research Association of
California. Police officers risk their lives every day to protect our communities and I
am proud to have the support of the officers that do so much to keep our families safe,
Atkins said.
PORAC joins public safety champions San Diego County Sherriff Bill Gore, Attorney
General Kamala Harris and District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis and in their support of
Atkins campaign for State Senate.
Toni Atkins currently serves as the Speaker of the California State Assembly,
representing San Diego County. She previously served as a womens health advocate, a
San Diego City Councilmember and Acting Mayor for the City of San Diego. She is
running for the 39th State Senate district in 2016.
