Curcumin Extract reduces


the risk of type 2 Diabetes

According to Chuengsamarn
and his co-workers, curcumin
extract significantly lowers the
risk of diabetes in the
prediabetic individuals.

However, it is strongly
advised to consult your doctor
or pharmacist before taking
these curcumin capsules.

Curcumin or Curcuminoid is a component found in Turmeric


(curcumin longa). It is well known for its bright yellow color, distinct smell

Chuengsamarn and co-workers have conducted a randomized
controlled trial in 240 prediabetic patients. The participants are divided into
2 groups- one would receive curcumin capsules while the other group takes
placebo (no curcumin). Curcumin treatment group needs to take 250mg of
curcumin capsules, 6 capsules per day continuously for 9 months.
The results show that 16.4% of placebo group has been diagnosed
with Type 2 diabetes but none in curcumin-treated group. Curcumin also
improves beta-cell function of the body which regulates insulin production.
Insulin is a key hormone to keep normal blood sugar level in our body.
