We have all already identified through Vision Duluth and many other local campaigns the
things we want to change to make our community more equitable for all people. In order
to be prepared to do this, we all need to understand the various roles there are in an issue
campaign so we can identify where we can each take leadership in the campaign, and
foster an environment where we can be successful in making these changes. Register

In order to deliver a request (powerful ask) of somebody we need to know what a persons
priorities and influences are. A powerful ask is a way to invite someone into our work,
and a research visit is how we begin to understand the person's priorities and influences.
Strengthening a powerful ask can be done by first doing a research visit. At this training
we will learn how to do a research visit and a powerful ask in order to create the power

We hear about the need for good leaders to be on local boards & commissions all the time.
However, we dont always know what it means to be on a board or commission or how to
be prepared to take the step in joining a board or commission. At this training we will
discuss what our local boards & commissions are, how to apply, and how to be the best

This training challenges the dominant stories many of us are told about how the world
operates, and how we operate in the world. We will discuss some of the dominant
narratives were told about people and how we can work to change that story so we can

Positions of Power
5-7pm
In this training well review the different positions of power (mainly elected positions) on a
local & state level. We will discuss what these positions responsibilities are and how they
