Roles in Issue Campaigns

Jan. 26th, 2016

5-7pm

We have all already identified through Vision Duluth and many other local campaigns the
things we want to change to make our community more equitable for all people. In order
to be prepared to do this, we all need to understand the various roles there are in an issue
campaign so we can identify where we can each take leadership in the campaign, and
foster an environment where we can be successful in making these changes. Register

Research Visits & Powerful Asks

7pm

Feb. 23rd, 2016

5-

In order to deliver a request (powerful ask) of somebody we need to know what a persons
priorities and influences are. A powerful ask is a way to invite someone into our work,
and a research visit is how we begin to understand the person's priorities and influences.
Strengthening a powerful ask can be done by first doing a research visit. At this training
we will learn how to do a research visit and a powerful ask in order to create the power
needed to make change. Register online at this link:

Boards & Commissions

March 29th, 2016 5-7pm

However, we dont always know what it means to be on a board or commission or how to
be prepared to take the step in joining a board or commission. At this training we will
discuss what our local boards & commissions are, how to apply, and how to be the best
leader possible on a board or commission. Register online at this link:
