RE: MEGAN MACLURE

I have had the pleasure of working with and supervising Megan MacLure during her IFX
(student teaching) at St. Thomas Aquinas School. St. Thomas Aquinas School is a grade 6-9
school. Megan worked primarily with Grade 7 LA, Social, Religion, and Grade 6/7 Cross Stitch,
or Fit For Life. Megan was also expected to help out with lunch supervision in the classroom and
with Homework room supervision.
Megan is a conscientious and enthusiastic teacher. Her lessons include a variety of interesting
and motivating learning activities, which are specifically designed to address the individual
needs of students while at the same time meeting curricular objectives. It is obvious that she is
passionate about Social as demonstrated through her creative lessons.
Megan displays self-confidence and warmth when working with teachers and students. Her most
outstanding quality was the ability to adapt any lesson, on the spur of the moment, to fit the
needs of the students for that particular period. Her positive rapport with the students created an
atmosphere conducive to learning and reduced discipline problems to a minimum.
Megan was very receptive to suggestions regarding teaching strategies and classroom
management. She was able to self-evaluate, to ask for help when necessary, a positive attribute
in any staff member, and, more importantly, to immediately react to any improvements that she
found necessary.
Megan would be an asset to any staff and I highly recommend her. It was a pleasure working
with Megan and I wish her the best.
